CERAMIC COATING

WHAT IS A CERAMIC COATING?

A ceramic coating is a high-performance, liquid polymer applied to the exterior surface of your vehicle. It bonds chemically with the paint, creating a protective layer that offers long-lasting protection against environmental contaminants and elements like water, dirt, bird droppings, road salts, and harsh UV rays. Essentially, it acts like an invisible shield, keeping your vehicle looking clean and well-maintained with minimal effort.

CERAMIC COATING VS PPF

When it comes to protecting your vehicle’s paint, both ceramic coatings and PPF are excellent options, but they serve different purposes and provide unique types of protection. the main differences are that a ceramic coating is a liquid coating applied to the vehicles surface while PPF is a film applied to the vehicles surface. Another difference is ceramic coatings help to repel water, dirt, and contaminants and PPF helps protect against rock chips, small dents, and swirl marks.

HOW LONG DO CERAMIC COATINGS LAST?

The ceramic coating market offers numerous brand options, each with varying levels of protection. At Style Up Auto, we use premium ceramic coating that provides 3-5 years of durable protection for your vehicle. However, the longevity of any ceramic coating also depends on how well it is maintained.

HOW DO I MAINTAIN MY CERAMIC COATING?

To keep your ceramic coating performing at its best and lasting as long as possible, proper maintenance is essential. Fortunately, maintaining a ceramic-coated car is relatively simple and requires minimal effort. We recommend regular washing, avoiding harsh environmental exposure, and using the correct products for your coating.

PROCESS OF A CERAMIC COATING

At Style Up Auto, we apply ceramic coatings with great attention to detail to ensure that your vehicle gets the most durable and long-lasting protection possible. Here is a breakdown of what you can expect:
1. Vehicle Inspection: Before applying the ceramic coating, we perform a thorough inspection of your vehicle’s paint to assess its condition. We check for any imperfections, swirl marks, scratches, or contaminants that may need to be addressed before application. If needed we will recommend a paint correction to ensure the vehicle is in great condition under the coating.
2. Exterior Wash: The next step is to wash the vehicle thoroughly to remove any dirt, grime, or debris from the surface. This ensures that the paint is clean and free from any contaminants that could interfere with the bonding of the ceramic coating. In addition we will clay bar the entire vehicle to ensure the paint is free of any embedded contaminants.
3. Paint Correction (If Necessary): If your vehicle has swirl marks, scratches, or any imperfections in the paint, we perform paint correction. This step involves the use of a polishing machine and special compounds to smooth out the surface of the paint.
4. Surface Preparation: Once the paint is corrected and flawless, we prepare the surface for the ceramic coating. This involves wiping down the paint to remove any remaining oils, residues, or polish left over from the paint correction process.
5. Application of Ceramic Coating: Now, the actual application of the ceramic coating begins. Using precise techniques, the ceramic coating is applied to small sections of the vehicle at a time.
6. Curing Time: After applying the ceramic coating, it must cure. Curing allows the coating to fully bond with the vehicle’s paint and form its protective layer. Typically, the curing time for ceramic coatings is around 1-2 hours, but the full curing process can take up to 24-48 hours.
7. Final Inspection: Once the ceramic coating is applied and has had time to cure, we perform a final inspection of the vehicle to ensure the coating has been applied evenly and there are no missed spots.
8. Aftercare Instructions: After the coating is applied, we provide you with simple care tips to help maintain the coating.
